Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya: A Visionary Leader and Beacon of New India – Samar

Udaipur: On the death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the proponent of *Integral Humanism* and former president of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Udaipur City District, organized a floral tribute and an ideological seminar at Upadhyaya Park, Doodhtalai, this morning. BJP office-bearers and workers paid homage to him, recalling his life, philosophy, and contributions to nation-building.

District President Gajpal Singh Rathore said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy of *Integral Humanism* continues to guide Indian culture, society, and politics even today.

Pramod Samar, State Coordinator of the Cooperative Cell, addressed the gathering as the chief speaker and described Pandit Upadhyaya as a visionary leader and a guiding force for a new India. He highlighted that despite never being a Member of Parliament or a legislator, Upadhyaya dedicated his life to shaping thousands of public representatives and strengthening politics as a force for the nation.

Samar elaborated that Upadhyaya, who emerged from a childhood of struggles, remained a pioneer in education and devoted his entire life as a selfless worker to the nation from the age of 21. From the founding of the Jana Sangh to his tenure as National General Secretary, and finally as National President until his untimely death on February 11, 1968, he sowed the seeds of *Integral Humanism* and the concept of *Antyodaya* that have now grown into a robust political and ideological legacy, from the Jana Sangh to the BJP.

Samar also emphasized that even as a young 30-year-old, Upadhyaya brought a cultural and ideological dimension to politics, providing new direction to public life in post-independence India. His sacrifices and vision established nationalism and ethical governance across the country.

Other speakers at the event highlighted that Upadhyaya’s philosophy of reaching the last person in society through *Antyodaya* forms the ideological foundation of the BJP. Following his principles remains a vital need in contemporary times.

BJP Media In-Charge Dr. Seema Champawat reported that senior leaders and office-bearers present included District President Gajpal Singh Rathore, State Coordinator Pramod Samar, former District President and Chairman Ravindra Shrimali, senior leaders Lokesh Dwivedi, Paras Singhvi, Devilal Salvi, Pankaj Borana, Vice President Jagdish Sharma, Devnarayan Dhabai, Digvijay Shrimali, Takhtsingh Shaktawat, Vijaylakshmi Kumawat, Mandal President Pratap Singh Rathore, Kanhaiya Vaishnav, Ranjit Digpal, Maheshpuri Goswami, Mohan Patel, former Mandal President Omprakash Chittoda, Mandal General Secretary Rakesh Jain, Youth Morcha President Sunny Pokharna, Naresh Vaishnav, OBC Morcha District President Babulal Od, Scheduled Caste Morcha District President Satyanarayan Mochi, Councilor Ramesh Jain, former Councilor Archana Sharma, Jayant Ojha, and other senior officials and workers.
