Pandit Nehru Laid the Foundation of the World’s Strongest Democracy – Laxmi Narayan Pandya

Udaipur: The death anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Jawaharlal Nehru was observed today at the office of the Udaipur Rural District Congress Committee.

According to Dinesh Audichya, Media In-charge of the Udaipur Rural District Congress Committee, floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Pandit Nehru at the Congress office located at Surajpol, Udaipur. This was followed by a seminar and discussion session.

During the discussion, former Deputy District Chief Laxmi Narayan Pandya said that India is the world’s largest democracy, and its strong democratic foundation was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Through the Five-Year Plans, Nehru introduced a structured roadmap for national development. Major schools, colleges, hospitals, industries, IITs, and IIMs were established during his tenure.

Pandya further said that Nehru adopted a mixed economy model combining socialism and capitalism, ensuring equal opportunities for progress to all sections of society.

Senior Congress leader Dr. Kalyan Singh Rao said that as a visionary statesman, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the political, economic, and social foundations of modern India. He said that India gained global recognition due to Nehru’s policies of Non-Alignment and the principles of Panchsheel. Nehru also showed deep interest in the development of science and technology, and modern India is the result of the developmental work initiated by him.
