Delivering Welfare Schemes to the Last Person Is the Government's Top Priority: Union Minister Durga Das Uikey

Udaipur : Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durga Das Uikey reviewed the implementation of key tribal welfare schemes during a state-level meeting at the Manikya Lal Verma Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRI) in Udaipur on Saturday. The review focused on flagship initiatives, including the Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and PM-JANMAN, with the Minister directing officials to ensure that benefits reach every eligible tribal family in a timely manner.

The meeting was attended by Rajasthan Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi, Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasiya, Lok Sabha MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, senior officials, and public representatives. Divisional Commissioner and TAD Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani presented a detailed overview of the progress of central and state government tribal development programmes.

Addressing the gathering, Uikey said the Union Government is committed to the holistic development of tribal communities and stressed that the benefits of every welfare scheme must reach the last person in need. He called for effective implementation, regular monitoring, and a result-oriented approach.

Kharadi highlighted the state's efforts in improving education, healthcare, livelihoods, and infrastructure in tribal areas. He also sought the Union Government's support to regularise the Tribal Telemedicine Centre at Abu Road and establish a similar facility in Pratapgarh district.

During the event, TRI and BSNL signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Digital Library at the TRI campus, providing tribal students with access to digital learning resources for competitive examinations.

The Minister also released the booklet Hum Hain Badlaav, showcasing the achievements of a tribal skill development programme, visited the Banphool Studio to interact with tribal artists, and encouraged Rajasthan's players selected for the Indian National Lacrosse Team, wishing them success at the international level.
