WZCC Director Dr. Ashwin M. Dalvi informed that, following the initiative of Rajasthan Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde, efforts are being made to explore possible collaboration with Australia for the preservation and promotion of Rajasthan’s tribal cultural heritage. Discussions also focused on cultural exchange opportunities between Australia’s Aboriginal communities and Rajasthan’s tribal societies.

The delegation received a traditional welcome with tilak and safa. WZCC Deputy Director (Programmes) Pawan Amrawat guided the visitors through Shilpgram, explaining traditional huts, the sculpture park, and rural lifestyles. Consul General Murphy also planted a tree to promote environmental awareness.

Praising the folk performances, Murphy described Shilpgram as a unique centre for preserving Indian art and culture. He said that expanding Australia’s engagement with Rajasthan would open new avenues for cultural and economic cooperation. He highlighted the importance of India-Australia cultural exchange and expressed confidence in strengthening future collaborations through joint programmes.
