Safer Internet Day Observed

Udaipur: To encourage the general public and officials of all departments in Udaipur district to use the internet safely, a training program was conducted via video conferencing with the support of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Udaipur, and the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C), Udaipur. The training focused on promoting digital security, responsible online behavior, and cyber awareness.
District Informatics Officer Mr. Malaram stated that in today’s times, the internet plays a vital role in education, communication, and professional development. However, with the increasing incidents of cyberbullying, online fraud, privacy breaches, and misinformation, it has become essential to educate people about safe and responsible internet usage.
He further informed that Safer Internet Day is observed every year on the second Tuesday of February, with the objective of creating awareness among students, parents, and teachers about cyber safety, online ethics, and digital citizenship, encouraging responsible internet use, and highlighting the importance of mental well-being in the digital world. Mental awareness also helps individuals identify and prevent online fraud, cyberbullying, and data breaches.
The training was delivered through interactive workshops via video conferencing by Mr. Malaram, Mr. Jeevanram Meena, Deputy Director, DoIT&C, and Mr. Sandeep Upadhyay, Programmer. At the district level, the program was attended by Ms. Shweta Damor, Additional Director, DoIT&C, Mr. Prakash Mali, Programmer, and other officials.
Officials and staff from the Information Technology Department and the Education Department at the block level were also informed that, from February 11 onwards, trained officers and personnel will collaborate with schools, colleges, local government bodies, and non-government organizations to conduct seminars, interactive workshops, awareness campaigns, and digital literacy programs, thereby collectively spreading awareness about safe and responsible internet use among the general public.
If you’d like, I can also make this shorter for media release or simpler for public awareness materials.
