Udaipur: District Collector Namit Mehta held an important meeting on Wednesday with representatives of petroleum gas companies to review the progress of ongoing Piped Natural Gas (PNG) pipeline work in the city.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted regarding pipeline laying activities across various parts of the city, the issuance of NOCs by the municipal corporation, and the challenges faced during execution. The Collector instructed officials to prioritize connecting industrial and commercial establishments with PNG lines, in line with state government directives, to promote clean energy and reduce dependence on conventional fuels.
The Collector also reviewed the condition of roads damaged due to pipeline installation work and directed the concerned construction agencies to ensure prompt repair. He further emphasized taking special precautions to prevent damage to newly constructed roads.
Namit Mehta clearly stated that no road excavation should be carried out by any department or agency without proper coordination. All departments were directed to work in coordination to avoid inconvenience to the public.
He also instructed that domestic consumers who are eligible for gas connections should be given priority for PNG connections, along with increasing public awareness so that more people can benefit from the facility.
The meeting was attended by UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Khanna, ADM City Jitendra Ojha, DSO Pratham Srishti Dabas, along with officials from various departments and representatives of petroleum companies.
