Udaipur: A new and fully equipped building of Asha Dham, dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and support of mentally challenged, destitute, and marginalized individuals, was inaugurated on Friday at Havala Khurd. The facility has been constructed by the SAT Foundation and was formally inaugurated by District Collector Gaurav Agrawal.
During the ceremony, the District Collector unveiled the building, paid floral tribute to the portrait of Asha Dham founder Late Sister Damien, and lit the ceremonial lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Collector Gaurav Agrawal praised the humanitarian services being carried out by Asha Dham and stated that organizations working for society’s most vulnerable, neglected, and disadvantaged sections represent the true spirit of humanity. He emphasized that such initiatives strengthen compassion and social responsibility within the community.
The SAT Foundation was established by Mrs. Shehnaz Daud Ali in memory of her late son Taha. The foundation is actively engaged in various public welfare initiatives in the fields of education, healthcare, social development, and the upliftment of underprivileged communities. As part of these efforts, the foundation has constructed and dedicated this modern facility to Asha Dham.
The newly built structure comprises 23 rooms, three spacious halls, and a modern kitchen. The foundation has also ensured that the building is fully operational and ready for immediate use by providing furniture, utensils, water coolers, washing machines, dining tables, chairs, and other essential household items. The facility has thus been handed over to Asha Dham in a completely furnished and ready-to-use condition.
Trustees of the SAT Foundation, Muslim Ali Bandookwala and Rajendra Heda, informed that the building will serve as a residential and rehabilitation center for elderly persons, mentally challenged individuals, destitute people, and others in need of care and support.
The successful completion of the construction project was made possible through the significant contributions of Sanjay Boliya, Narendra Bhanawat, Shubham Tapadiya, and contractor Bhim Singh. The organization also expressed special gratitude to Mrs. Sudha Jain, whose initial support played a crucial role in the realization of the project.
It is noteworthy that Asha Dham was founded by Late Sister Damien, who dedicated her entire life to serving mentally challenged and destitute individuals. Today, the institution continues her mission of compassion and service, bringing hope and dignity to the lives of countless needy people.
The ceremony was attended by Bishop Swami Dev Prasad Ganawa, Mrs. Sudha Jain, former Joint Director of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment Mandhata Singh Ranawat, and several distinguished citizens.
The successful organization of the event was made possible through the efforts of Sister Joicy, President of Asha Dham, along with Sister Denisa and Shailendra. The proceedings were conducted by Mohan Giri Goswami, while Sister Denisa concluded the event with a vote of thanks to all guests, supporters, and donors.
The SAT Foundation expressed confidence that the new facility will play a vital role in the care, protection, and rehabilitation of vulnerable, mentally challenged, and marginalized individuals, while further advancing the mission of humanitarian service and social welfare.
