Udaipur: On the occasion of the 12th International Day of Yoga, a special yoga program was organized on Sunday at the Central Jail, Udaipur. Around 1,100 inmates and jail staff enthusiastically participated in the event, practicing yoga, pranayama, and meditation.
The program commenced with the live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message on International Yoga Day. Following the address, yoga instructors from the AYUSH Department and the District Administration guided participants through various yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques.
The yoga session included the practice of Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), Makarasana (Crocodile Pose), Shavasana (Corpse Pose), Kapalbhati, Nadi Shodhana, Bhramari, and several other yoga practices aimed at improving physical and mental well-being.
The session was conducted by yoga instructors Devendra Sain, Anita Joshi, and Latika Agrawal from the District Administration and AYUSH Department, along with Art of Living instructors Girdhari and Ajay Dixit.
Central Jail Superintendent Rajpal Singh emphasized that regular yoga practice helps individuals maintain both physical and mental health while reducing stress. He encouraged inmates to incorporate yoga into their daily lives for overall well-being and personal development.
The program was also attended by Deputy Superintendent Shrimohan Meena, Assistant Bhagwan Meena, Jail Wardens Satendra Kumar, Achalaram, and Raghuveer Prasad, along with other prison officials and security personnel, all of whom actively participated in the yoga session.
The event concluded with a collective commitment to making yoga a regular part of daily life, promoting health, discipline, and inner peace.
