Sanitation Workers' Union Raises Key Issues with MLA's Representative in Sri Ganganagar

Sri Ganganagar: Representatives of the Sanitation Workers' Union met Madhusudan Bihani, representative of MLA Jaideep Bihani, at the MLA Service Centre on Monday to highlight several long-pending issues affecting sanitation workers.

The delegation included former Municipal Council Chairman Shyam Dhariwal, State Vice-President of the Sanitation Workers' Union Umesh Valmiki, and District President Anil Dhariwal. They submitted a memorandum outlining their key demands and urged prompt action to address them.

Among the issues raised were the immediate release of the pending salary for temporary sanitation workers for May 2026, promotions to the post of Jamadar in accordance with service rules, and the issuance of Provident Fund (PF) and Employees' State Insurance (ESI) passbooks to temporary workers. The union also sought pension benefits for sanitation workers appointed after 2004 in the event of retirement or death and requested the release of amounts deducted under the General Provident Fund (GPF) from permanent sanitation workers since 2022.

Madhusudan Bihani assured the delegation that the concerns would be taken up seriously and that efforts would be made to resolve the issues at the earliest.

Others present during the meeting included Kapil Asija, Prem Ghodela, Keshav Mittal, Praveen Bhatheja, Sunil Bhatia, and several members of the sanitation workers' union.
