Sanitation Workers' Union Meets Principal Secretary, Seeks Early Release of Recruitment Notification

Sriganganagar: A delegation of the Joint Valmiki and Sanitation Workers' Union, Jaipur, led by its President, Shri Nand Kishore Dandoriya, met Shri Ravi Jain, Principal Secretary, Department of Local Self Government, in Jaipur on Friday to urge the State Government to issue the recruitment notification for sanitation workers by July 25, 2026, in accordance with the written agreement signed between the Government and the Union on July 1, 2026.

The delegation included Shri Umesh Valmiki, State Vice President of the All India Safai Mazdoor Congress Union, Shri Anil Dhariwal, District President from Sriganganagar, and Shri Vicky Valmiki.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Umesh Valmiki and Shri Anil Dhariwal stated that the early recruitment of sanitation workers would ensure priority for members of the Valmiki community traditionally engaged in sanitation work, as well as for temporary sanitation workers currently serving in various urban local bodies.

They further stated that candidates whose appointments were affected by previous court cases should be accommodated in the recruitment process. They also demanded that such appointees be regularized after completing one year of service in the semi-skilled category followed by one year in the skilled category, in accordance with the agreed provisions.

Office-bearers and representatives of the Union from Jaipur, Sriganganagar, and several other districts of Rajasthan were also present during the meeting.
