Agriculture and Allied Departments Review Meeting Held in Sri Ganganagar

Sri Ganganagar: Rajasthan Farmers' Commission Chairman C.R. Chaudhary chaired a review meeting of the Agriculture and Allied Departments at the ATMA Auditorium to assess the implementation of key farmer welfare schemes and departmental performance.

Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension) Satish Kumar Sharma highlighted the district's agricultural achievements, noting that Sri Ganganagar records the highest wheat productivity in Rajasthan. He reviewed the availability of fertilizers, progress of major schemes, crop insurance, quality control measures, and seed distribution programmes. He also recommended establishing a Cotton Centre of Excellence and an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Laboratory to improve cotton productivity and promote sustainable farming.

Deputy Director of Horticulture Preeti Garg presented initiatives related to kinnow cultivation, micro-irrigation, solar energy, and horticulture development. Representatives from the Rajasthan State Seed Corporation, Seed Certification Agency, Cooperative Department, and Krishi Vigyan Kendra also briefed the meeting on subsidized seeds, certified seed production, cooperative services, farmer training, and extension activities.

The Chairman directed officials to ensure timely implementation of schemes and maximize benefits for farmers across the district.
