Kota. Former Joint Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations, Dr. Prabhat Kumar Singhal, is preparing a comprehensive Creators’ Biographical Encyclopaedia of poets and writers from Rajasthan’s Hadoti region, covering Kota, Baran, Bundi and Jhalawar districts. The objective of this initiative is to make information about all regional litterateurs available at one place. Writers have been requested to send their brief profiles by 28 February. Brief introductions of some litterateurs are as follows:
Dr. Raghuraj Singh Karmyogi, Kota:
Born on 9 August 1951 in Anwalkheda village, Agra district (Uttar Pradesh), Dr. Karmyogi holds qualifications in science, mechanical engineering and a PhD. A scholar of Hindi, English, Sanskrit and Braj, he writes across genres including stories, novels, plays, children’s literature, poetry and essays. He has authored six technical books related to Indian Railways and fifteen literary books. His works have been broadcast on All India Radio and published widely. He has edited four commemorative volumes and contributed to 18 joint anthologies. Dr. Karmyogi has received over 100 awards, including Sahitya Shri, Munshi Premchand Katha Sahitya Award, Lal Bahadur Shastri Technical Writing Award (Railway Ministry), and several national literary honours.
Rashmi Vaibhav Garg, Kota:
Born on 19 August 1975 in Sabalgarh, Madhya Pradesh, she holds M.Sc. (Chemistry), M.A. (English Literature) and a PhD. Writing in Hindi and English, she has been active in prose and poetry for the last four years. Her published works include Antar Rashmiyan, Pratibimb and Man Ki Pagdandiyon Par. She has received awards in several national story competitions.
Salim “Swatantra”, Kota:
A noted children’s writer, Salim Swatantra was born on 23 June 1967 in Hindaun City, Rajasthan. He writes Hindi poetry, Hindi-Urdu ghazals and children’s literature. Five of his books have been published so far. He has received numerous literary honours from railway, literary and cultural institutions across the country.
Devki Darpan, Roteda (Bundi):
Born on 7 July 1976 in Roteda village, Bundi district, Devki Darpan writes in Hindi and Rajasthani across multiple genres including poetry, stories, travelogues and essays. She has 11 published books to her credit and around 15 more under publication. A regular participant in national poets’ meets, she has received several prestigious literary awards.
Hemraj Bansal, Baran:
Born on 6 June 1957 in Baran, Hemraj Bansal holds degrees in Commerce and Law. He writes travelogues, poetry, songs and articles in Hindi. His major works include Amarnath Yatra, Maut Se Chuhal and Vikat Yatra: Kailash Mansarovar. He also runs his own literary website and has been honoured with several regional and national awards.
Mahesh Pancholi, Kota:
Born on 24 August 1968 in Kapren (Bundi district), Mahesh Pancholi writes in Hindi and Rajasthani, especially children’s poetry. Five of his books have been published with support from major literary academies, while three are under process. He has been honoured by numerous literary and cultural organisations for his contribution.
Pallavi Darak Nyati, Kota:
Originally from Neemuch district, Madhya Pradesh, Pallavi Nyati is a postgraduate in Commerce with a graduation in Computer Studies. Settled in Kota after marriage, she writes in Hindi, English, Urdu, Mewari and Hadoti. She has authored over 100 devotional songs and runs a popular YouTube channel “Pallavi”. Her published books include Meri Bhajan Mala, Indradhanush, Namak Meetha–Cheeni Khari and Sagar Seep. She has received several literary honours.
Piyush Pachak (Mehta), Bundi:
A well-known humor and satire writer, journalist and photographer, Piyush Pachak was born on 30 October 1969 in Bundi. With over 40 years of experience across print, electronic and digital media, his writings appear in leading publications nationwide. He has been honoured with Bundi Gaurav, Hadoti Gaurav and Rajasthan Gaurav awards, among many others.
Poet Shailendra Jain “Gunguna”, Jhalawar:
Born on 5 July 1974 in Pidawa village of Jhalawar district, Shailendra Jain is an active poet who regularly recites at literary forums across the country. His poems have been published in prestigious magazines and joint anthologies. He has received over 500 “Best Post of the Day” recognitions and several emerging writer awards, and continues to contribute actively to contemporary poetry.
