An Example of Honesty at Kota Station: Lost Ladies Purse with Cash and Jewellery Safely Returned to Passenger

Kota. A commendable example of honesty and alertness has emerged at Kota Railway Station under *Operation Amanat* being run by the Kota Division of West Central Railway, where a ladies purse found unattended on Platform No. 01 was safely secured and handed over to its rightful owner.

During routine patrolling at Kota Railway Station, Sub-Inspector Ambesh Kumar Gautam, along with his staff, found a ladies purse lying on a bench on Platform No. 01. Enquiries were made with nearby passengers, but no one claimed ownership of the purse.

As per procedure, a panchnama was prepared and the purse was checked. It was found to contain one pair of jhumkas, three pairs of toe rings, one pair of earrings, one pair of tops, and cash amounting to ₹36,695. The estimated total value of the jewellery and cash was approximately ₹2.70 lakh. The purse was then safely deposited at the post.

Later, information regarding the lost purse was received through Rail Madad, following which the concerned passenger was contacted. Ramsevak Das, husband of passenger Mamta Sharma and a resident of Kota, arrived at the post. After due identification and verification, Sub-Inspector Ambesh Kumar Gautam handed over the ladies purse to the passenger in a completely safe condition.

This incident reflects the commitment and integrity of railway personnel in ensuring passenger safety and trust.
