The World's Water Resources Are Facing Bankruptcy: Dr. P. C. Jain

Senior Water Conservation Advocate Dr. P. C. Jain addressed a group of selected student "Water Ambassadors" at St. Patrick Senior Secondary School, Pratap Nagar, highlighting the growing global water crisis.

Referring to the 2026 Global Water Report titled "Living Beyond Limits: Hydrological Means in the Post-Crisis Era" published by the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (Richmond Hill, Canada), Dr. Jain explained that excessive groundwater extraction has led to a serious decline in both the quantity and quality of groundwater resources. According to the report, nearly 4 billion people worldwide experience severe water scarcity for at least one month every year.

While interacting with the students, Dr. Jain emphasized the urgent need to conserve water and avoid its wastage. He shared practical methods of water conservation and encouraged the students to adopt responsible water-use practices from an early stage.

The students who volunteered to become Water Ambassadors (Jal Doots) included Harshita, Trisha, Tulsi Meena, Divyashi, Jhilmil, Chanchal, Mahima, Tanisha, Sakshi Devda, Sakshi Mali, Akanksha, Deepak, and Sonali. The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Kamla Meghwal.

Dr. Jain administered a pledge to the students to promote rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge. They also pledged to inspire and motivate as many people as possible to adopt water conservation practices.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Kamla Meghwal, who also welcomed the guests and participants.
