Review Meeting Held for Education Sambal Program Operated by Hindustan Zinc in the District

A review meeting was held to assess the ongoing efforts and future collaboration under the Education Sambal program, which is operated by Hindustan Zinc as part of its CSR initiatives. The meeting was attended by the Chief District Education Officer and headmasters of 17 project schools in the district.

The meeting also saw participation from Leela Chaturvedi, Additional District Project Coordinator from the Chief District Officer’s office, Program Coordinator Nafees Ahmed, and the headmasters of 14 schools. Currently, the Education Sambal program is benefiting 1,477 students from 17 government schools in 16 villages across the district, providing support in subjects like Science, English, and Mathematics for classes 6 to 12.

The attendees were briefed about the efforts and achievements of the program and were informed about upcoming plans to improve board exam results. The meeting was attended by Sundar Raj Naidu, Ruchika Chawla, Mayank Darji, and Tanvi Sachdeva from Hindustan Zinc's CSR team. Arun Kumar, Ashish Chauradia, Bhawani Bhatt, and Jyoti Joshi, the field coordinator of the partner organization Vidya Bhawan, were also present.

All participants appreciated the efforts of Hindustan Zinc and Vidya Bhawan and shared the current status and needs of their respective schools. Leela Chaturvedi suggested focusing on schools where subject-specific teachers have not been appointed. Kanakmal Jain, headmaster of the secondary school in Kanthariya, highlighted the issue of student drop-outs and recommended organizing career counseling sessions.

The Education Sambal program, launched in 2008, is a CSR initiative focused on education, implemented in collaboration with Vidya Bhawan Society. The program aims to strengthen conceptual knowledge among rural students to improve their learning outcomes.
