National Milk Day Celebrated by Ghatavali Mataji

Udaipur, Ghatavali Mataji Farmer Producer Company celebrated National Milk Day with great enthusiasm, supported by Hindustan Zinc, at Bichhadi, Debari, Udaipur district. The event commemorated the birth anniversary of Dr. V.G. Kurien, known as the Father of the White Revolution.

Starting in 2022 with a modest daily milk collection of 30 liters, the company has achieved a phenomenal 4,000-fold growth, now collecting 12,000 liters daily. It aims to scale this to 15,000 liters per day in the near future. This success highlights the strength of the Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) model, which emphasizes clean milk production and quality inputs through agricultural input shops.

The company's "Gauyam" brand, symbolizing purity and trust, has gained recognition for products like A2 Bilona Ghee, paneer, buttermilk, khoya, and curd. These products are also procured by the Taj Group, which purchased dairy products worth ₹30 lakh this year, significantly boosting farmers' incomes.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Sharad (Additional Director, Animal Husbandry), Dalchand Dangi (Chairman, Saras Dairy, Udaipur), Gajendra Singh (Procurement Manager, Taj Group), and Vivek Yadav (SBU Head, Hindustan Zinc Debari). Anoop K.R., Head of Safety, Debari, and Surendra Vardiya, State Head, BAIF Livelihoods, were also present.

Chunnilal Patel, a member of the FPO board, highlighted that farmers associated with the FPO earn an additional ₹6.7 per liter of milk sold. Surendra Vardiya emphasized future plans to expand the Gauyam brand nationwide, train farmers in clean milk production, and improve livestock breeding practices, ensuring a sustainable and profitable future for farmers.

Vivek Yadav encouraged increased milk contributions to the FPO and urged more shareholder farmers to participate actively. Saras Dairy Chairman Dalchand Dangi inspired farmers, stating that the benefits gained through the FPO would secure a steady income source for Bichhadi farmers.

Dr. Shakti Arora, Additional Director of Animal Husbandry, shed light on the importance of clean milk production and its role in setting Bichhadi's farmers apart. Following the event, milk collection cans were distributed to women dairy farmers from Debari, acknowledging their contributions to the FPC's success.

The event witnessed the participation of 90 farmers and concluded with a strong message of collective efforts driving transformational changes. National Milk Day highlighted India's position as the largest milk producer and the power of unity in achieving such milestones.
