Udaipur: The Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University has aligned its curriculum with the standards set by the National Education Policy (NEP), ensuring quality education that aligns with national goals. The Academic Council meeting, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Col. Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot at the Pratap Nagar Secretariat, focused on implementing outcome-based education and offering admissions twice a year under NEP guidelines.
Prof. Sarangdevot emphasized that academic reforms established by NEP play a vital role in national development. Vidyapeeth has been committed to providing quality education with a focus on youth employability. New standards for PhD admissions, based on UGC norms, will be implemented, with past three years’ student data uploaded to the government’s ABC portal, linking to students’ DigiLocker accounts.
Additional key initiatives include implementing the sixth Dean Committee’s recommendations in agriculture education, conducting academic and administrative audits, and launching short-term courses on skill development, moral and human values, sustainable development, and environment. Each department will prepare an Institute Development Plan outlining a ten-year roadmap.
Practical, internship-based learning is encouraged, with mandatory internships in the fourth semester and dissertations in the eighth semester, reinforcing research in postgraduate courses. Enhanced internal examination systems and the integration of the Indian Knowledge System across all curricula will be instituted. Faculty members will maintain record books for review by experts, and semester-end activities will include infrastructure and academic activity documentation, which will be reviewed regularly.
The university has introduced the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme and will automate the Examination Department, install solar energy systems for energy conservation, and require biannual alumni meetings for each department.
