Bharat Vikas Parishad Mewar Spreads Message of Culture and Environmental Conservation on World Environment Protection Day & Guru Purnima

UDAIPUR: Bharat Vikas Parishad Mewar Branch organised a special Guru Vandan–Chhatra Abhinandan programme at St. Joseph Secondary School, New Bhopalpura, and Government Senior Upadhyay Sanskrit School, Amberi on the occasion of World Environment Protection Day and Guru Purnima.

The initiative aimed to promote Indian cultural values among students, strengthen the traditional Guru-Shishya bond, and create awareness about environmental conservation.

On the birth anniversary of late Mary D’Souza, founder of St. Joseph Secondary School, members of Bharat Vikas Parishad Mewar honoured five meritorious students by presenting them with uparna and wishing them a bright future. During the Guru Purnima celebration, the honoured students expressed their gratitude by felicitating their teachers with uparna and seeking their blessings by touching their feet. The Parishad also presented mementoes and certificates to the students and teachers.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jayraj Acharya, National Co-Convener, Service Activities, highlighted the importance of the Guru-Shishya tradition in Indian culture and said that teachers provide the right direction and values for life. He encouraged students to always follow the ideals and guidance of their teachers.

Sanjeev Bhardwaj, Regional Coordinator, Contact Activities, spoke about the significance of World Environment Protection Day and urged people to reduce plastic usage, segregate wet and dry waste, and adopt small environment-friendly practices in daily life.

Shriratna Mohta, Service Coordinator of the branch, highlighted the harmful effects of addiction and administered an oath to students, teachers, and attendees to lead a drug-free life and encourage their families and friends to do the same.

Senior member Sunanda Bhardwaj remembered her student days and paid an emotional tribute to late Mary D’Souza for her valuable contribution to education and society. School Director Christopher D’Souza and Principal Akhil D’Souza expressed gratitude to all members of Bharat Vikas Parishad Mewar for organising the programme. Students also presented colourful cultural performances that captivated the audience.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Yogesh Jyani, Branch Sanskar Coordinator, and Chain Shankar Dashora.

As part of the environmental initiative, under the guidance of Dr. Alka Paliwal, Environment Coordinator, members of Bharat Vikas Parishad along with students of Government Senior Upadhyay Sanskrit School, Amberi, released around 200 seed balls in the nearby hilly region, spreading the message of environmental protection and a greener future.

Branch Secretary Advocate Sanjay Mehta informed that seed balls are also being distributed among children in rural areas to involve them in environmental conservation efforts. He said that collective participation can transform the initiative into a widespread public movement for protecting nature.
