World Blind Union President Santosh Kumar Rungta and other visually impaired individuals to be honored in Jaipur today

New Delhi : Senior advocate Santosh Kumar Rungta of the Supreme Court, New Delhi, will be honored at the Pink City Press Club in Jaipur on Thursday for being elected as the President of the World Blind Union.  It is noteworthy that for the past forty years, the presidency of the World Blind Union has been held by representatives from European countries. For the first time, Santosh Kumar Rungta from India, a native of Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan, has been elected as the chairman of this organization.

Jayaram Meena, General Secretary of the Rajasthan Blind Service Association, said that Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa, along with Education Minister Madan Dilawar, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot, President of the Progressive Forum Association and former MLA Jeetram Chaudhary, and BJP Vice President Bihari Lal Bishnoi, among other dignitaries and social workers, will attend the felicitation ceremony.

Along with Rungta, two visually impaired officers selected for the Rajasthan Administrative Service and a female athlete who won a World Cup will also be honored at the ceremony. The felicitation ceremony is being held at the Pink City Press Club in Jaipur from 10:00 AM onwards.
