Udaipur: On the occasion of **“Hunger Service Week”** of Lions Clubs International, Lions Club Udaipur Ashoka organized a special health awareness program, promoting the spirit of service and dedication. The program, dedicated to **Senior Citizen and Shelter Home Day**, was held at **Sukhdham Ashram in Sector 9**, where a free **acupressure training camp** was organized for the senior citizens residing at the ashram.
The session was conducted by the chief speaker **Dr. Alpana Bohra**, President of the Women’s Wing, Consumer Protection Organization (Udaipur District). She elaborated on the scientific credibility of acupressure therapy and its importance in daily life. Dr. Bohra taught the elderly how pressing specific points on the body can provide relief from chronic ailments and sudden pain without the use of medicines.
She gave live demonstrations and practical training for relieving **headaches, migraines, knee and joint pain, high and low blood pressure**, as well as digestive problems such as **gas, bloating, acidity, and constipation**. Dr. Bohra also listened to the individual health concerns of each senior citizen and taught them simple acupressure techniques that could be easily practiced at home.
Addressing the gathering, **Lions Club Udaipur Ashoka President Lion Mukesh Madhavani** said that the club’s objective is not only to provide food or material support, but also to empower senior citizens to live a healthy and self-reliant life. With this aim, the training camp was organized so that the elderly could manage minor health issues on their own instead of depending on medicines.
The initiative saw active participation from **Club Secretary Lion Shrichand Khaturia, Treasurer Lion Manish Jain, and members Lion Aziz Ali and Shagun Jain**. The club office bearers also presented **baskets of fresh fruits** to all the residents of the ashram and wished them good health and happiness.
At the conclusion of the program, **Prakash Chandani**, President of the Sector 9 Sindhi Panchayat, expressed gratitude to the entire Lions Club team. He said that such sensitivity toward senior citizens is an inspiration for society. He expressed confidence that such service-oriented initiatives not only boost the morale of the elderly but also spread positive energy throughout the community. The program concluded with a collective resolve to continue organizing similar public welfare activities in the future.
