Udaipur : The Mines Department has intensified its focus on moving forward with a concrete strategy to achieve its revenue targets. Principal Secretary, Mines, Geology and Petroleum, Shri T. At present, the Mines Department is ahead of last year’s revenue collection for the same period, registering a growth rate of 11 percent. Shri Ravikant stated that the computerized weighbridge modules and the Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) are beneficial for both the department and leaseholders.
These directions were issued during a review meeting held at Mineral Bhawan, Udaipur, chaired by Shri Ravikant during his visit on Friday. The meeting was attended by Director Mines Shri Mahavir Prasad Meena and senior officials.
The Principal Secretary instructed officials to ensure effective recovery of penalties imposed during action against illegal mining activities, royalty collection under RCC and ERCC contracts, and regular review, analysis, and guidance for revenue collection at the SME level. He emphasized the need for regular reviews by departmental finance officers, coordination with offices showing lower revenue recovery, expedited collections, recovery of outstanding arrears, and 100 percent recovery of current dues. He stressed that effective efforts must be made to collect revenue from all potential sources.
Shri Ravikant further stated that the testing and installation of the computerized weighbridge module being developed by the department should be expedited. The Vehicle Tracking System is also being implemented in a phased manner, and field officers must accelerate the implementation of both systems.
