Narwana Railway Station Redeveloped Under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

NEW DELHI: Narwana Railway Station in Haryana has been redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of ₹26.88 crore, providing passengers with modern amenities, improved accessibility, and enhanced connectivity.

According to Ajay Michael, Public Relations Officer, Delhi Division, Northern Railway, the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is one of Indian Railways' flagship initiatives aimed at modernizing railway stations across the country to improve passenger convenience, accessibility, and overall travel experience.

The scheme envisions transforming railway stations into modern, passenger-friendly hubs equipped with state-of-the-art facilities while strengthening connectivity with surrounding areas through improved roads, footpaths, and supporting infrastructure.

As part of the redevelopment, a new station building has been constructed along with a 12-metre-wide Foot Over Bridge (FOB) equipped with two lifts to facilitate seamless movement of passengers. The station also features a newly developed parking area, an upgraded circulating area, and enhanced platform shelters with improved platform surfaces, including tactile pathways for the visually impaired.

Special emphasis has been placed on making the station accessible for persons with disabilities. The upgraded station includes entry ramps, tactile pathways, accessible toilets, drinking water booths, dedicated parking facilities, and other barrier-free amenities. The installation of two lifts is expected to significantly benefit elderly passengers, persons with disabilities, and those carrying luggage.

In addition, the station building has been enhanced with architectural façade lighting, giving it a modern appearance while improving the overall passenger environment.

The redevelopment of Narwana Railway Station is part of Indian Railways' broader vision under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme to create world-class railway stations that offer improved passenger comfort, better accessibility, and enhanced urban integration across the country.
