###Sangam University Academic Council Approves Curriculum Reforms, B.Tech Minor Specialisations

Bhilwara: Sangam University's 15th Academic Council meeting, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Karunesh Saxena, approved a series of academic reforms aimed at strengthening quality education, enhancing employability and aligning programmes with evolving industry and regulatory requirements.

Addressing the meeting, Prof. Saxena outlined his vision for the university's growth, emphasising that institutional excellence depends on the "Outstanding Performance by Every Stakeholder"—including faculty members, students, officers and staff. He called for a collective commitment towards academic excellence, innovation, accountability and high standards in teaching and learning.

The council approved the introduction of minor specialisations in B.Tech programmes, a move aimed at providing students with interdisciplinary learning opportunities and improving career prospects. It also endorsed the revision of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) curriculum in accordance with the latest regulations of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

In the agriculture faculty, the council approved the launch of an M.Sc. in Agriculture (Soil Science) programme. It also agreed to realign agriculture curricula with the latest recommendations of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Members also agreed to update curricula across various programmes by incorporating skill-based and value-added courses to improve students' professional competence and industry readiness.

The Academic Council further decided to celebrate the institution's Silver Jubilee in May 2028, marking 25 years since the establishment of ITM, which later became Sangam University in 2012.

The meeting reviewed the recommendations and decisions of various statutory and academic committees and offered further suggestions for strengthening academic governance.

Retired academician Prof. S. K. Kataria, former professor at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, and Dr. Om Prakash Koli from the University of Delhi attended the meeting as expert members and shared their recommendations on academic development.

The meeting was attended by deans of all faculties and members of the Academic Council. Registrar Dr. Alok Kumar welcomed the participants and concluded the proceedings with a vote of thanks.
