SECOND REHEARSAL OF ARMY DAY PARADE 2026 CAPTIVATES JAIPUR

Jaipur:   Bathed in a gentle winter sun filtering through the lingering morning mist, the Pink City awoke to a spectacle of discipline, pride and patriotism as Jaipur hosted the Second Rehearsal of the 78th Army Day Parade 2026 at Mahal Road, Jagatpura. The sunlit haze lent a majestic glow to the proceedings, creating a breathtaking canvas against which the Indian Army once again demonstrated its valour, professionalism and evolving combat prowess.

Building on the momentum of the inaugural day, the second rehearsal of the parade further reinforced Jaipur’s place in history as it hosts the Army Day Parade for the very first time. Organised in the heart of a civil area, this landmark event has brought the Indian Army closer to the people, enabling citizens to witness its magnificence at close quarters-an initiative reminiscent of the Republic Day Parade and a significant departure from tradition.

The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General H S Vandra, Chief of Staff, Sapta Shakti Command, who led the event, lending it added prestige and inspiration. His presence underscored the importance of the parade as a celebration of the Army’s legacy, its operational readiness and its future-oriented transformation.

Set against the vibrant cultural ethos of Rajasthan, the parade narrated the Saga of Bravery, Sacrifice and Transformation of the Indian Army. Large numbers of enthusiastic citizens, veterans, students and families lined Mahal Road, reflecting the deep bond between the Army and the people of this land of warriors and martyrs. The event holds special significance as Rajasthan, synonymous with courage and sacrifice, hosts the Army Day Parade for the first time.

A key highlight of the day was the impressive display of indigenously developed, state-of-the-art military hardware, reflecting the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. Advanced weapon systems, modern platforms and cutting-edge war-fighting equipment-many of which proved their operational effectiveness during Operation SINDOOR-were showcased alongside legacy systems that continue to safeguard the nation. Tanks, artillery guns, missile systems, drones, helicopters, fighter aircraft and the newly raised Bhairav Battalions drew sustained applause from spectators.

Adding an international dimension, the participation of a Nepal Army contingent once again symbolised the enduring bonds of friendship, shared history and close military cooperation between India and Nepal. The integration of vibrant Rajasthani tableaus and cultural performances, celebrating the state’s rich socio-cultural heritage and martial traditions, remained a major attraction and resonated strongly with the audience.

The parade witnessed an overwhelming public response, with large number of spectators, including students from various schools and universities and citizens from all walks of life gathering to be part of this historic celebration in the Pink City.

The flawless conduct of the parade stands as a testament to the close coordination between Sapta Shakti Command and the Government of Rajasthan, ably supported by the civil administration. Their collective efforts have transformed Mahal Road into a world-class ceremonial venue befitting an event of national importance.

The Army Day Parade celebrations will continue with the next phase scheduled on 13 January 2026, culminating in the Grand Army Day Parade on 15 January 2026. The final parade will be reviewed by General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army and shall be witnessed by other senior military and civil dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Governor and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan. It will be live telecasted across the state, ensuring widespread public participation.

The second rehearsal of the Army Day Parade 2026 reaffirmed that this event is far more than a ceremonial display -it is a powerful expression of the Indian Army’s legacy, modernisation and unwavering commitment to the nation, inspiring pride among citizens and honouring those who stand steadfast at the country’s frontiers.
