Kota:In a major breakthrough, the Kota Rural Police arrested a hardcore criminal who had opened fire on police personnel. During an exchange of fire, the criminal was shot in the leg and injured.
Kota Rural Superintendent of Police **Mr. Sujeet Shankar** informed that on **January 11**, the police successfully arrested absconding hardcore criminal **Adil Mirza**, along with his associates and a large cache of weapons. The accused was wanted in multiple firing incidents registered at **Sangod Police Station** and within **Kota City district**, including cases involving firing on police teams.
The SP stated that in an Arms Act case registered at **Kaithunipol Police Station, Kota City**, the hardcore criminal Adil Mirza was absconding. Acting on information that he was partying with his associates, Kota City Police conducted a raid, during which the accused opened fire on the police. The police retaliated, but the criminal managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Following this, under the supervision of **Additional Superintendent of Police Ramkalyan Meena** and **DSP Ghanshyam Meena**, around three dozen police personnel were deployed and several special teams were formed. Based on specific intelligence provided by **Constable Lakhan Singh of the Cyber Cell**, the teams were informed that the absconding criminal Adil Mirza was hiding with his associates in a guava orchard near **Chausla Bridge in the Modak area**.
Acting on this information, teams from **Ramganjmandi Circle**, **Sangod Police Station**, and special teams from the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Kota Rural, conducted a joint operation at the location. The hardcore criminal and his associates were spotted hiding there. On seeing the police, Adil Mirza immediately opened fire on the police team, to which the police responded.
During the retaliatory firing, **Adil Mirza was shot in the left leg and injured**. His associates also attempted to flee and sustained injuries in the process. All injured persons were admitted to the hospital for treatment.
From the accused, the police seized **one 12-bore double-barrel country-made gun, two country-made pistols, one pistol, three magazines with 16 live cartridges, one knife, three Android mobile phones, one basic mobile phone, one Jio dongle, and vehicles including a motorcycle and a scooter**.
The operation marks a significant achievement for the Kota Rural Police in their ongoing campaign against hardcore criminals.
