Mumbai: Police have busted an alleged sex racket operating under the guise of a spa in Mumbai’s Powai area and arrested the spa owner, Kuldeep Rampukar Yadav.

According to police, the action was taken at a spa named “King”, located in the Daffodils complex near Hiranandani and S.M. Shetty College in Powai. Police had received information that customers were allegedly being offered sexual services in the premises under the pretext of various spa services.

Following the information, police officials first verified the allegations through a decoy customer. A police team subsequently conducted a raid at the premises and rescued three women. The women were sent for medical examination as part of the procedure, following which they were reportedly placed in a women’s shelter.

Police said their preliminary investigation indicated that the spa operator allegedly collected money from customers, paid a portion to the women and retained the remaining amount.

Yadav was taken into custody and booked under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of senior police officials, including Additional Commissioner of Police Abhinav Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner Datta Nalawade and Assistant Commissioner Dadasaheb Ghutkade. The team was led by Police Inspector Jagdeep Gosavi, along with other police personnel.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine whether others were involved and to establish the full extent of the alleged activities. Further developments are expected.
