Udaipur: An awareness programme and collective pledge ceremony were organised on Tuesday at A One Senior Secondary School, Ayad, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign) of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.

The programme was organised by the District De-Addiction Centre, operated by Arogya Seva Sanstha, to educate students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage them to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.

District De-Addiction Centre Project Coordinator Vijaypal Singh Sisodia said addiction damages both physical and mental health and also affects family relationships, social well-being and financial stability. He urged students not to give in to peer pressure and to firmly reject any form of substance abuse.

School Principal Jyoti Khemesara emphasised that proper guidance during adolescence can help young people build a positive future. She encouraged students to focus on education, discipline and healthy habits while staying away from drugs.

At the conclusion of the programme, students, teachers and school staff collectively pledged to contribute towards building a Drug-Free India and a drug-free society.

Project Manager Narayan Singh, Sudarshan Singh, Sagar Bilochi, Rajveer Damor, Reena Devi and Harshvardhan Singh, along with teachers and a large number of students, attended the programme.
