Udaipur: On the occasion of Independence Day, artists from the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur, presented a special cultural programme at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, New Delhi, as part of the ‘At Home’ programme held in the august presence of Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu.

Artists from various states across the country showcased the rich diversity of India’s folk and tribal traditions through captivating performances based on the country’s vibrant art, culture and heritage.

At the beginning of the programme, the artists posed for a group photograph with the Hon’ble President. On the occasion, Dr. Ashwin M. Dalvi, Director, West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, presented a memento to the Hon’ble President as a gesture of honour and welcome.

Dr. Dalvi informed that the artists subsequently presented a special cultural production titled ‘Chaturang’, featuring a harmonious blend of folk and tribal traditions and art forms from different parts of India. The dance choreography for the presentation was created by Smt. Aastha Karlekar, Director, South Central Zone Cultural Centre. The performance offered the distinguished gathering a glimpse into the remarkable richness and diversity of India’s folk culture.

Siddhant Bhatnagar and Nikhil Verma from the West Zone Cultural Centre played an active role in coordinating the programme and making the necessary arrangements for this important national event.

Following the programme, the artists and officials were invited to a banquet hosted at Rashtrapati Bhavan. They were also given an opportunity to visit several prominent areas of the historic complex, including its galleries, Ashoka Hall, Brahmaputra Hall and Amrit Udyan.

Participation in this prestigious national celebration at the historic and dignified Rashtrapati Bhavan was a matter of immense pride, honour and an unforgettable experience for the artists of the West Zone Cultural Centre. The occasion provided them with a unique national platform to showcase India’s rich folk and tribal cultural heritage and celebrate the country’s extraordinary cultural diversity.
