40th Foundation Day of Rajasthan Vidhyapeeth University Celebrated with Grandeur

Udaipur: Rajasthan Vidhyapeeth University celebrated its **40th Foundation Day** with great enthusiasm at the Agriculture College’s Agriculture Building. The event highlighted the vision of Swami Vivekananda, the role of youth in nation-building, and the importance of education, values, and self-reliance in shaping a prosperous India.

**Swami Vivekananda’s Vision and Youth Empowerment:**
The keynote speaker, **Regional Pracharak of RSS, Nimbaram**, emphasized the responsibility of fulfilling Swami Vivekananda’s unfinished dreams. Speaking on the occasion, he said that **self-awareness and self-reliance among youth are crucial to building a self-reliant India**. He stressed that the youth should be **job providers, not merely job seekers**, and urged them to imbibe values, respect national symbols, great personalities, and the Constitution.

Referring to Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World Religious Conference in Chicago, Nimbaram highlighted how India has always stood for **universal welfare** and clarified misconceptions about India’s educational and scientific progress. He also underlined that serving the poor is akin to serving God, and India’s essence lies in **dharma and spirituality**.

Nimbaram further noted that **social change is the foundation of true transformation**, stating that political power alone cannot bring change; instead, societal progress begins with individual responsibility within one’s family and community. He emphasized **eradication of social evils**, promoting social harmony, and uniting people from all sections to participate actively in nation-building.

**Panch Parivartan for a Self-Reliant India:**
The Vice-Chancellor, **Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot**, welcomed the guests and highlighted that Foundation Day is not just a ceremonial event but an occasion to **reflect on values, nation-building, and patriotism**. He explained the concept of **‘Panch Parivartan’ (Five Transformations)**—self-reliance, environmental protection, social harmony, civic responsibility, and family values—as the guiding principles for developing a strong and self-reliant India.

**Education as the Foundation of Progress:**
**Prof. Kailash Sodani**, Advisor to the Governor for Higher Education, praised the university’s journey, tradition, and adoption of innovation. He noted that **progress and transformation are rooted in education**, emphasizing the importance of blending Indian knowledge, history, and traditions with modern professional skills. Prof. Sodani also highlighted India’s rapid growth in higher education—from 22 universities at independence to 1,150 today—as a foundation for its emergence as a global power.

**Acknowledgment of Dedicated Efforts:**
**Chancellor Bhanwar Lal Gurjar** traced the university’s journey from its establishment in 1937 by founder Janubhai, a time when teaching and learning were considered crimes, to its current status with over 100 UGC-recognized courses. He attributed the university’s success to **dedicated leadership and committed staff**, urging everyone to work with devotion to take the institution to greater heights.

**Ceremonial Highlights:**
The event began with floral tributes to **Maa Saraswati, Bharat Mata, and Swami Vivekananda**, followed by homage at the statue of founder Janubhai at the Shramjivi College and Pratapnagar campus, under the supervision of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sarangdevot.

The program witnessed the participation of distinguished academicians and dignitaries, including **Prof. Sumant Vyas (Vice-Chancellor, Bikaner Veterinary University), Prof. Shiv Sharma (Dean, Veterinary College, Navania), Dr. Kaushal Nagda (Peeth Sthavir), Dr. Tarun Shrimali (Registrar), and other deans, directors, faculty members, students, and eminent citizens of Udaipur**.

The event was **coordinated by Dr. Harish Chaubisa**, and **vote of thanks was presented by Registrar Dr. Tarun Shrimali**. The celebrations highlighted the university’s **commitment to education, values, innovation, and nation-building**, inspiring students and faculty to contribute actively toward a prosperous and self-reliant India.
