Udaipur: A drug de-addiction awareness programme was organized at the College of Dairy and Food Technology (CDFT), Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur. The programme aimed to educate young people about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage them to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy, substance-free lifestyle.
Addressing the programme, CDFT Dean Dr. Siddharth Mishra said the growing prevalence of substance abuse has serious adverse effects on the health, education, family life and social well-being of young people. He urged students to not only stay away from substance abuse themselves but also create awareness among people around them about its harmful consequences. He emphasized that active participation by youth is essential for building a healthy, aware and drug-free society.
During the programme, NSS volunteers took a pledge to stay away from substance abuse and spread awareness about its harmful effects in society. They also resolved to adopt a healthy and drug-free lifestyle and play an active role in educating young people and the general public about the consequences of substance abuse.
Around 50 students participated enthusiastically in the campaign. E. Kusum Meghwal, Dr. Arun Kumar Goyal, Dr. Nikita Wadhawan, Dr. Kamlesh Meena and non-teaching staff members also participated in the programme and contributed to its success.
The programme conveyed a strong message of awareness against substance abuse while promoting healthy living and a sense of social responsibility among students.
