Udaipur: Students of B.Sc. Food Science and Nutrition from the College of Community and Applied Sciences, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), visited the Pichwai Art Gallery and Workshop (Fine Art) as part of an educational tour aimed at exploring the unique blend of art and culture.
The visit was conducted under the guidance of Jay Sharma and began at 11 a.m. The students were welcomed by renowned gallery artist Narendra Sharma, who introduced them to the intricacies of traditional Pichwai art.
He explained the selection of colours, traditional painting techniques and various stages involved in creating Pichwai artworks. He also answered the students’ questions and provided insights into the cultural significance of the art form.
The main objective of the visit was to connect students with India’s traditional art and cultural heritage while encouraging creativity and artistic thinking. Students closely observed and appreciated the artworks displayed at the gallery.
The students and faculty members described the visit as informative, inspiring and valuable, highlighting the importance of such educational tours in enhancing practical knowledge and cultural understanding.
