Udaipur: The new sports ground of Happy Home Senior Secondary School at Sakroda was inaugurated with enthusiasm on Tuesday, marking the beginning of a three-day sports carnival. Students and members of the school fraternity participated in the event with great excitement.

The chief guests included Pawan Jain, chairman of Yuva Unstoppable, Ahmedabad; businessman and Rotarian Mukesh Suthar; executive committee member Vijay Wadhwani; and Natthe Khan Pathan.

The inauguration was formally conducted by school founder Dr Jagdish Arora, who cut the ribbon to open the sports ground. Managing Director Kunal Arora welcomed the guests by presenting them with traditional turbans and uparna.

A grand march-past by students representing all four school houses was organised during the ceremony. The students participated with discipline and enthusiasm, showcasing their sporting spirit and leaving the guests and spectators impressed.

Several sporting events, including the 100-metre race, relay race and kabaddi, were organised as part of the carnival. Around 300 students from all branches of Happy Home School participated in the competitions with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

The closing ceremony will be held on August 21, when winners of the various competitions will be felicitated and awarded.

Addressing the students, the chief guests said sports were an integral part of education and helped develop discipline, self-confidence, leadership qualities, teamwork and a healthy spirit of competition.

School founder Dr Jagdish Arora said the institution gives equal importance to sports and academics for the holistic development of students. He said the new sports ground would provide students with better opportunities to develop and showcase their sporting talent.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Group Principal Dr Jyotsna Pandey, with Coordinator Pushpendra Chundawat and teachers extending their support.

Academic Director Dr Sushma Arora proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by Meera Suthar and Prerna Mahawar.
